Q?

How can my company get involved in LACC?

A.

Please contact the LACC Office by calling 310-260-9950 ext 5001 or emailing lacc@lacorporatechallange.com. LACC will add your company to the mailing list and send you the registration form. You may also register directly within this website via the registration page.

Q?

How large does a company have to be to participate in LACC?

A.

Companies come in a variety of sizes. They vary from over 10,000 employees all the way down to companies with fewer than 25 employees. Companies are divided up each year by the Board of Directors into Divisions. Companies compete against other companies of their general size.

Q?

When does registration for the Corporate Challenge take place?

A.

Registration begins each year directly after the previous year's games end until the games hit capacity (determined each year by our Board of Directors). This year we will max at 500 organizations or 30,000 individuals. We strongly encourage individuals and companies to register early as there is an informational meeting each year in January where individual and company representatives are able to receive the Rules Book and other important information about the games.

Q?

How does payment work?

A.

Company and individual entry fees are a one-time fee that is paid in order to register into the Games. It allows a company or individual to compete in any or all of the 30+ events the Corporate Challenge offers. Pricing ranges for companies to register all of their employees (depending on company size), and $50 for each individual participant who is registering on their own because maybe their company could not pay to sponsor all of their employees on any given year, or maybe they own a small business and simply want to compete. There is no minimum amount of events companies or individuals are required to compete. Entry fees cover the cost of equipment, facilities, officials, staff, etc. for each event and a portion goes towards the charities chosen for the season.

Q?

When are the Events held?

A.

The events are held over a 90 day period on weekends during the months of March 25 through June 25. No events take place on holidays.

Q?

How many participants can compete in each event?

A.

This depends on each particular event. Please click on each of the Event Rules to view allocations and how events are set-up. Some events are team events (Men, Women or Coed) and others are individual events that allow a certain number of participants based on gender and/or age.

Q?

How are event sites chosen?

A.

The Events are large with hundreds or thousands of participants. The site must accommodate the anticipated participation volume, volunteers, event staff and parking.

Q?

How do companies communicate with the LACC Office?

A.

Each company has at least one company coordinator (or several). All communication is handled with the Corporate Challenge Office through your company coordinator. Your company may opt to also have event coordinators to help with particular events and assist the company coordinator(s).

Q?

Does LACC support a charity each year?

A.

Yes, LACC supports a local charity organization each year. $100 from each company’s entry fee is donated directly to this charity (at the Awards Celebration). LACC promotes this charity throughout the Games and offers other opportunities to generate money for the selected benefactor.

Q?

How is this charity chosen?

A.

LACC sends out Request for Proposals (RFP's) to local charities. The LACC Board of Directors determines the charity by a vote through post evaluation of RFP responses. The length of these relationships vary.

Q?

When is the Awards Celebration held each year?

A.

The Awards Celebration is held each year during the last weekend of the games. LACC awards the top eight (8) companies in each Division.

Q?

How can vendors participate even if their companies do not?

A.

LACC offers Vendor Sponsorships at our events. The largest attended event is the Kick-Off Party/Walk event. This event draws thousands of people each year. Please contact us for more information regarding this sponsorship.

Q?

How are medals awarded for events?

A.

For all events, teams or individuals are awarded medals based on the top finishers in that event. These medals range from overall finishes to gender and age-group finishes. Please refer to the Event Rules for specifics by event.

Q?

How do we get pictures of our participants or company on the LACC website?

A.

With the Instagram app on your smart phones, use the hashtag #LACORPORATECHALLENGE and your pictures will be sent to us for up-loading into our Instagram Gallery. Please note, your Instagram profile must be public in order for the pictures to be up-loaded to the LACC website.

Q?

Does LACC have additional social media outlets?

A.

Yes. LACC has an Instagram and Facebook page containing event information, updates and picture albums. LACC also has a Twitter account and YouTube channel with various content and videos concerning the Games.

Q?

How can companies become sponsors?

A.

LACC relies on companies to assist financially by not only participating in LACC but also sponsoring events. Sponsorships are available at several different levels. Sponsorships offer great exposure for a company while also showing their support of this unique event! Sponsors receive great exposure from thousands of spectators.

Q?

How does LACC handle event cancellations?

A.

LACC places participant safety at the top of our priority when it comes to determining event cancellations based on inclement weather. We work closely with facility officials (based on where the event is taking place) and a weather service that gives us up-to-the-minute details based on our location. We do our best to make-up any events that are cancelled, but some events unfortunately can't be re-scheduled (5K, Half Marathon, Duathlon & Triathlon). Any updates concerning event re-scheduling will be made through company coordinators and updated through all social media outlets as well as this website.

Q?

How do employees or individuals become eligible to compete and sign-up for events?

A.

Please contact the Corporate Challenge Office.
